Yearbook Designs

Reflection

I like most about my designs that they are colourful and the theme of doodles is shown through all of them.  I think they are designed well, there is overlapping and small, medium, large images.  I think the brushes are used well on all the pages.  I like how the front page turned out.

I don't like the spirit week page as much as the other two.  I think it could be improved by adding more pictures to balance it out more.  I think the SHHS on the front page should stand out more from the rest of the page.  I also think the front page is too blue.

I think my pages are unique and competitive to be selected for the real yearbook designs because they are designed well.  I think the doodle theme is one that most people would like.  I think these pages are universal to everyone.  I think the doodle theme makes them unique.

Yearbook Design Brainstorming

For my yearbook pages and cover design the theme will be doodles.  I will also use lots of brushes.  The colours I will use are different shades of blue.

Barbara Kruger Assignment

Reflection
a.  In this peice of art I see two hands being held, they are in black and white.  The background is also black and white, it is a city street.  The hands are darker than the background and everything is fuzzy.  In white with a blue back ground in the bottom corner it says 'never question your heart'.
b.  The message in this peice of art is to always listen to what your heart wants.  And to go after your dreams no matter what anyone says.  I think this is an important message for todays society.
c.  I like this peice of art.  I like the contrast between the hands and the background.  I like how the words stand out.

Barbara Kruger

a. In this peice of art I see a face with half in black and white, and the other also in black and white, but with the colours reversed.  The words "Your body is a battleground" are across the face.  They are written in white with a red background.  There is also a red border on the two sides.
b. I think the artist is giving a message about believing in yourself.  I think it represents what someone wants to do but is afraid to.  It could represent that we are too hard on ourselves.  We are not always happy with who we are.
c. I don't really like Kruger's work.  I think it does have good messages for society, but I don't like the colours and think that it could be more artistic.

Moonlander Reflection

I like most that my redesign is colourful.  I think the different levels are creative.  I like the third level with the purple trees the best and I also like the first level with all the plants.  It will be more fun to play if it looks nice.  I like that it is more challenging than the original moon lander, but not too hard.

To improve the game I think I could have added an animation to make it more exciting.  Maybe a plant could move in the wind or have an alien move across the screen.  I don't really like the second level as much as the others.  It isn't as colourful and I think it could be more creative.  The explosion isn't how I wanted it to be.

I think my redesign is an improvement because it is more challenging.  There are some places where it is hard to get to some of the platforms or it is hard to get around some of the plants.  There is also the sun and some stars that the alien will blow up if he touches.  I think the colours and theme make the game more exciting to play.

Graphic Re-Design Brainstorming

The theme for my design will be on an alien planet.  The background sky will be colourful and have stars and other planets.  One of the scenes will be like a jungle with giant palm trees and vines.  One will have giant mushrooms and other colourful plants.  The other will be by a lake or maybe in a cave.  The luner lander will change to an alien that melts when he crashes.

Phototext

Reflection
I like most that the text blends in with the pictures.  I like the different filters that I used for the first picture.  I like the brushes that I used for the second picture.  And I like that the second picture is black and white.
I think they can be improved that they are more different from each other.  They are similar because of the face in the same place in all the pictures.
I think the last picture is the most successful.  I like the blurred background and the dark face.  The text blends in with the picture because it is the same shape as the face.
